  • Before driving long-term if a Type 2 vehicle licence holder
  • Before driving long-term if hypoglycaemia unawareness (rare on gliclazides)
  • Before driving in early months of introducing a mimetic along with the gliclazide
  • If symptoms of hypoglycaemia

Others:

  • If on metformin and planning a pregnancy
  • All pregnant women with Type 2 diabetes
